material and forms of stickers

almost every sticker is made of paper or lamination.
laminated stickers can be differed in clear lamination and printed on opaque lamination.
there are stickers formed round, oval, oblong, oblong with off-rounded corners and stickers which are individually blanked out.
the cheapest way to produce stickers is the production of paper stickers which do have disadvantage because they are not water-proof. if they get wet the stickers turn ripply and loose effect.
it makes sense to chose clear stickers if they should not appear enframed. this means that the motive is not surrounded by any colored lamination.
to make sure that a clear sticker keeps its effect on every background there should be white as a background color on the lamination. this might be a little more expensive but it will  grade up the result.

types of sticker printing

the three most important types of industrial production of stickers are offset printing, digital printing and screen printing.
offset printing is quite cheap because you can accumulate the printing by putting diverse different motives on one printing plate.
compared to offset printing digital printed stickers are way more solid. to guarantee the endurance
there is a need of using premium lamination solvent-containing paint.
for keeping a sticker very solid screen printing is a good choice. screen printing contains spreading on the paint thickly on the backing material. therefore the color does not bleach too quick.
screen printing is also commendable for clear stickers. because of the strong opacitiy of the colors the sticker keeps his original color without being influenced by the background colour.
for your own stickerproduction there are paper formats to be bought in specialist shop.

photostability and wheather resistance by refining the surface of the sticker and the use of specific paint

photostability of stickers depends on the level of lightfastness of the printing  paint. the grading occurs in a scale from 1-8 whereas 8 is the top. the higher the quality of the printing paint and the used material the longer the stickers stay shiny and photostable.
photo- and wheather stable stickers are mostly printed on pvc-lamination and refined with uv-finish.
